| Associate Analyst I |
| This position is located in our Baltimore office.
This entry-level research position is primarily responsible for providing modeling, and organizational support to the senior research analyst. It is expected that a Level 1 associate can build and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and discounted cash flow analysis. A Level 1 is also responsible for building and updating comp sheets and managing the databases and electronic data services (i.e. Bloomberg, FactSet, among others) necessary to analyze the sector. Like all associates, a Level 1 must be able to meet the special projects demands of the analyst and be resourceful enough to determine and locate relevant data. A Level 1 associate does little travel, will not have a great deal of interaction with company management teams or investors, and it is expected that their written product will be edited by the analyst prior to publication. Additionally, the Level 1 must work on building industry knowledge and contacts. A level I associate will spend the majority of their time working behind the scenes as they develop their skill set and learn their industry and the sell-side research business. Entering the CFA program is highly encouraged. Undergraduate degree, modest work experience (less than 3 years), no CFA or MBA.
