Rob is Head of Investment Banking at Stifel in Europe, with responsibility for the firm’s corporate broking, advisory and private financing business across the continent. He joined Stifel following the takeover of Oriel Securities, where he led Corporate from January 2014.
Rob is personally involved in the firm’s coverage of financial services, especially challenger banks and diversified financials. He has been at the forefront of the firm’s industry leading coverage of legal services, spanning law firms, alternative legal services businesses and litigation finance. Recent notable transactions include the IPO of DWF, the first premium listed international legal business, and capital raises for leading litigation finance businesses such as Augusta Ventures.
Prior to joining Stifel, Rob worked for Canaccord Genuity (previously Collins Stewart) and was Head of Securities, responsible for all research, sales, and trading in Europe. Rob originally joined Collins Stewart as a consumer research analyst, covering brewers, food manufacturing, tobacco, and household and personal care. Prior to that Rob was an equity research analyst at HSBC (2001-2005) and previously qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte.
Rob holds an MA from Cambridge University in English Literature and had a three year spell teaching English in the mid-1990s.

Mark graduated from Durham University in 1990, joining the corporate finance department of Hill Samuel later that year. In 1994, Mark joined ABN AMRO (then Hoare Govett) in order to set up and run the Pan European Real Estate research team. From 2001, he was a member of ABN AMRO’s number one-rated smaller companies team, specialising in consumer-orientated sectors. During his time as a Real Estate sector analyst, Mark Young was ranked as highly as No. 2 in the annual Extel survey, and No. 1 in the Sunday Times StarMine survey. Since 2009, he has returned to corporate finance and has been involved in numerous IPOs and secondary fund raisings.

Stuart has over 20 years’ experience in M&A, Leveraged Finance and Private Equity Coverage. Stuart joined Stifel in 2018, having spent the past 4 years as Head of Sponsor Coverage at HSBC covering the mid-market. At HSBC, Stuart was involved in over 100 transactions including debt and M&A, working with virtually all of the Private Equity community and leading all of the strategic dialogue with the client base.

Prior to joining Stifel, Ash set up and led the European operations for Financo, the US consumer sector investment bank. Ash has over 23 years of investment banking experience and his consumer sector transaction experience covers the apparel and footwear sector, beauty and personal care, home décor, DTC and specialty retail. Notable transactions that he has been involved with are the disposals of Musto, Gill, Ben Sherman, Le Chameau, Paula’s Choice, Seraphine, Long Tall Sally, Woolrich, Hunter; the acquisitions of Reiss, Wisteria and Hilary’s Blinds as well as the joint venture between Ocado and Wm Morrisons.
Ash started his career at UBS, within investment banking advising media and retail clients, before subsequently moving to Hawkpoint and McQueen where he focused primarily on the retail and consumer brand sector.

Gareth joined Stifel in 2014 from Canaccord. He has over 17 years of equity research experience in UK banking, most recently as a UK Banks analyst. Recent IPO work has included Shawbrook, Virgin Money, and W&G Investments.
In his time as an equity analyst, he has covered companies including Bank of Georgia, Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, RBS, and Standard Chartered.

Mr. Hoare has almost 20 years of experience in healthcare investment banking. Prior to joining the firm, he was Managing Director and Head of Global Healthcare at Commerzbank. He spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch, where he was the Managing Director responsible for the Northern European healthcare business and the animal health franchise. He serves as Chairman of the Bulldog Trust, Chairman of Chariot Innovations Limited (the commercialisation arm of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine), and is a Non-executive Director of Placehill Limited, and Laguna Ventures Limited.

Nicholas has almost 20 years’ experience in the Healthcare industry. He joined Morgan Stanley’s Healthcare Investment Banking Team in 2006, where he worked on a number of M&A and capital markets transactions. In early 2011, Nicholas moved to the Equity Capital Markets team at Jefferies in London, where he initially focused on raising equity capital across industries within the broader EMEA region.
In December 2013, Nicholas was named as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Investment Banking by Financial News, partly in recognition of the more than 20 equity capital markets transactions he completed in 2013 alone.
Since mid-2013, Nicholas focused on raising equity capital for European healthcare companies, especially those companies in the biopharma subsector targeting investment from U.S.-based healthcare specialist investors. In January 2018, Nicholas moved to Stifel as a Managing Director on the Healthcare Investment Banking team to continue to focus on delivering equity financing solutions to Europe-based healthcare companies, but also with a broader remit across M&A and strategic advice.

Prior to joining Stifel, Jonathan spent six years in Corporate Finance at Nomura Code. He previously was biotech equity research analyst at Credit Suisse and Evolution.

Mark joined Stifel in July 2013. Mark has 29 years’ corporate finance, broking, and advisory experience, of which the last 19 years have been in the Investment Funds sector. He has acted as corporate broker to a wide range of investment trusts and other listed closed-end funds at Stifel, HSBC, and Deutsche Bank. During 11 years at HSBC, as director in a funds and fund derivatives group, he also established and operated UCITS, and non-UCITS fund platforms, and set up managed accounts. He has worked on a large number of new issuance, restructuring, and advisory projects. Mark has also worked for NatWest Markets and Baring Bros. in mergers and acquisitions, and corporate advisory roles, and he began his career at KPMG as an auditor.

Ashton is a Managing Director of Stifel Nicolaus Europe’s corporate broking practice. He has 17 years’ experience in corporate broking and is focused exclusively on Energy & Natural Resources. Ashton has raised over $4.5 billion of equity capital for UK listed international oil and gas companies, including $1.9 billion since 2018 representing c.80% of E&P equity raises done in London. Ashton has completed 31 consecutive transactions, including as JGC on the largest ever LSE Premium Segment E&P IPO equity raise of $460m for Energean and JGC on the largest ever AIM E&P fundraise of $530m for Hurricane Energy. Ashton is currently retained corporate broker to 12 Energy & Natural Resource companies, and was rated first in the 2017, 2018 & 2019 Extel Corporate Broker rankings in Oil & Gas. Ashton was previously a Partner at Oriel Securities, and a Director at Panmure Gordon. He has an MBA from the University of Buckingham and an MA from Durham University.

Callum is a Managing Director of Stifel Nicolaus Europe’s investment banking team. He has 16 years’ experience in corporate finance and is focused exclusively on Energy & Natural Resources.
He has significant transaction experience in the sector and has advised AIM, fully listed, and private companies on a wide variety of transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, takeover offers, IPOs, secondary offerings and convertible bond offerings, including raising over $1.9 billion since 2018. He advised Faroe Petroleum in its $817m acquisition by DNO, Eland Oil & Gas in its $501m acquisition by Seplat and Amerisur Resources in its $315m acquisition by GeoPark. Callum is a Qualified Executive for AIM and has in-depth knowledge of the Listing Rules, Prospectus Rules and Disclosure and Transparency Rules as well as corporate governance.
He is currently retained Financial/Nominated Adviser to six Energy & Natural Resource companies and Corporate Broker to a further seven.
Prior to joining Stifel, Callum worked at Panmure Gordon as a Director in the Corporate Finance team advising on Equity Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions. He also served with the British Army for six years and holds an MA in Modern Languages from Edinburgh University.

Stewart graduated from Cambridge University with a First in Biological Sciences. He started his career at Citibank in 1999 before joining Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance team between 2001-2003, where he was involved in a variety of M&A and Corporate Recovery transactions.
In 2003, Stewart joined Nomura International’s Corporate Finance team covering global M&A as well as Healthcare Broking. In 2005, Stewart joined Collins Stewart and was involved in a wide range of fundraising and M&A transactions, for both AIM and Main Market clients, and joined Oriel in 2011.
Stewart has covered a broad range of sectors, primarily the Healthcare, Support Services, Media, and Oil & Gas sectors. Key clients have included Development Securities, Domestic and General, Energy XXI, Hogg Robinson, Spring Group, Vectura, and Wilmington.

Fred Walsh has 16 years of experience providing strategic advice to public and private companies, and their shareholders, across a broad range of transactions globally.
Fred joined Stifel in December 2016 as a Managing Director in the Technology team. He was previously Head of Technology, Media & Telecoms at Panmure Gordon, which he joined in 2011, based in London. Fred previously worked for Arden Partners, Landsbanki, and Credit Suisse First Boston. He started his career working for ABN AMRO’s Corporate Finance team in 2001.

Alex started out life as an ECM lawyer before moving into Investment Banking and remains a qualified solicitor.
