Rob is Head of Investment Banking at Stifel in Europe. He joined Stifel following the takeover of Oriel Securities, where he led Corporate from January 2014. Prior to joining Oriel, he worked for Collins Stewart, where he oversaw the integration with Canaccord Genuity in 2011-12 and was Head of Securities, responsible for all research, sales, and trading in Europe. Rob started out with Collins Stewart as a consumer research analyst, covering brewers, food manufacturing, tobacco, and household and personal care from 2005-2010. In the early part of his 20-year career in finance, Rob was consumer and retail research analyst at HSBC (2001-2005) and previously qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte. Rob holds an MA from Cambridge University in English Literature.

David has over 30 years' corporate finance experience advising companies on M&A and capital-raising transactions. He followed his graduation in Law from Nottingham University by qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse. In 1984, he joined the Corporate Finance Division of Schroders, where he spent a total of twelve years, including four on secondment to Schroders in Sydney. His experience with Schroders encompassed a wide range of transactions, including hostile and recommended public bids, public and private company mergers and acquisitions, and capital raisings for a mid-to-large capitalisation client base. From 1996, he worked as a Director of Close Brothers Corporate Finance, developing its business advising mid-cap companies across most industry sectors. In 2003, David joined Oriel Securities and was appointed Head of Corporate in 2009 and a Director of Oriel Securities in 2011. In 2014, David was appointed Head of Corporate Finance. Later that year, Oriel Securities was acquired by Stifel.

Mark graduated from Durham University in 1990, joining the corporate finance department of Hill Samuel later that year. In 1994, Mark joined ABN AMRO (then Hoare Govett) in order to set up and run the Pan European Real Estate research team. From 2001, he was a member of ABN AMRO’s number one-rated smaller companies team, specialising in consumer-orientated sectors. During his time as a Real Estate sector analyst, Mark Young was ranked as highly as No. 2 in the annual Extel survey, and No. 1 in the Sunday Times StarMine survey. Since 2009, he has returned to corporate finance and has been involved in numerous IPOs and secondary fund raisings.

Tim is a Managing Director responsible for the European Consumer, Retail & Leisure Investment Banking team in London.
Tim has nearly 30 years of corporate finance experience and has led over 100 transactions across a variety of industry sectors (with a strong focus on consumer) and geography in both the private and public sectors. He has advised over £55 billion of M&A transactions and £15 billion of capital markets transactions. Prior to joining Stifel, Tim was most recently the deputy Head of Corporate Finance at Cantor Fitzgerald and head of its consumer team. Previously, he was a Partner heading Ernst & Young’s capital markets and consumer practices, ran Corporate Finance for Houlihan Lokey, and was a Managing Director at HSBC in Europe and Asia. Tim also has held senior positions with Lazard and Barings.

Prior to joining Stifel in Europe as a Director, Consumer, Retail & Leisure, Eric spent a year at Cantor Fitzgerald and six years at HSBC Investment Banking, where he was a Senior Vice President for the Retail and Luxury sector coverage team in London. Eric has advised both private equity and corporate clients in the UK and Continental Europe and conducted a wide range of transactions in the broader retail sector, including buy-side, sell-side, IPO, LBO financing, pre-IPO financing, and dividend recapitalisation. His sector expertise includes: Apparel, Luxury Goods, Health and Beauty, Specialty Retailing, E-retailing, Restaurants, and Leisure. Eric holds an MBA from London Business School.

Prior to joining Stifel, Michael led the Industrial Products and Services sector at EY in the United Kingdom & Ireland. He began his career with DC Advisory, where he spent 10-plus years advising public and private companies across the industrial space. Michael also spent more than three years working with U.S. consolidators on European opportunities in New York. Prior to joining DC Advisory, Michael qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte.
Michael has extensive experience advising mid-market companies on both domestic and cross-border M&A, restructuring transactions, and raising debt.

Mr. Hoare has almost 20 years of experience in healthcare investment banking. Prior to joining the firm, he was Managing Director and Head of Global Healthcare at Commerzbank. He spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch, where he was the Managing Director responsible for the Northern European healthcare business and the animal health franchise. He serves as Chairman of the Bulldog Trust, Chairman of Chariot Innovations Limited (the commercialisation arm of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine), and is a Non-executive Director of Placehill Limited, and Laguna Ventures Limited.

Nicholas has almost 20 years’ experience in the Healthcare industry. He joined Morgan Stanley’s Healthcare Investment Banking Team in 2006, where he worked on a number of M&A and capital markets transactions. In early 2011, Nicholas moved to the Equity Capital Markets team at Jefferies in London, where he initially focused on raising equity capital across industries within the broader EMEA region.
In December 2013, Nicholas was named as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Investment Banking by Financial News, partly in recognition of the more than 20 equity capital markets transactions he completed in 2013 alone.
Since mid-2013, Nicholas focused on raising equity capital for European healthcare companies, especially those companies in the biopharma subsector targeting investment from U.S.-based healthcare specialist investors. In January 2018, Nicholas moved to Stifel as a Managing Director on the Healthcare Investment Banking team to continue to focus on delivering equity financing solutions to Europe-based healthcare companies, but also with a broader remit across M&A and strategic advice.

Neil joined Stifel in June 2010 from AXA Investment Managers (UK) Limited. He has over 20 years’ experience in the sector, having begun his career as an investment manager with City of London Investment Group in 1997 and rapidly progressing onto a wide range of roles within the sector. Neil’s experience has been across all spectrums of the investment funds business from both a buy-side and sell-side perspective. Neil joined Stifel to take up the Corporate Broking position within the Investment Funds team. Neil’s role in Corporate Broking includes all aspects of shareholder relations, marketing services, capital raising, and board reporting. He has led over 50 corporate transactions raising, in excess of £5bn since 2010.

Mark joined Stifel in July 2013. Mark has 29 years’ corporate finance, broking, and advisory experience, of which the last 19 years have been in the Investment Funds sector. He has acted as corporate broker to a wide range of investment trusts and other listed closed-end funds at Stifel, HSBC, and Deutsche Bank. During 11 years at HSBC, as director in a funds and fund derivatives group, he also established and operated UCITS, and non-UCITS fund platforms, and set up managed accounts. He has worked on a large number of new issuance, restructuring, and advisory projects. Mark has also worked for NatWest Markets and Baring Bros. in mergers and acquisitions, and corporate advisory roles, and he began his career at KPMG as an auditor.

Highlights include the £210m IPO of Bilfinger Berger Global Infrastructure, £293m IPO of Secure Income REIT and the £1.1bn sale of Liberty Living to CPPIB. Prior to joining Stifel, Tom worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he spent 5 years and qualified as a chartered accountant. Whilst at PwC, Tom worked firstly within the middle markets assurance team before moving into corporate finance where he worked on a number of transactions, including the insolvency of Lehman Brothers. Mr. Lees has 30 years’ of experience. Prior to joining Stifel, Mr Lees was Head of Global Equities at F&C Investments and Head of UK Equities at Deutsche Asset Management (Formerly Morgan Grenfell). He successfully built and managed large teams of Portfolio Managers and Analysts (25+) and was instrumental in winning over £15bn of new business. He started his career at Samuel Montagu & Co. (later acquired by HSBC) in 1986. Throughout his career, Mr Lees has worked closely with management and teams especially with growth companies. As a long-term investor, he has helped numerous companies raise money in the private sector, before supporting them in a market listing/IPO and then helping them develop into sizeable businesses over time. He formally specialised in managing “High Alpha” U.K, European, and Global Portfolios (40 stock max). Since joining Stifel, he has helped win a number of clients (e.g., Reneuron, Oxford Biodynamics, Net Scientific, and WanDisco). He has also participated in some significant capital transactions (e.g., Secure Income REIT).
