Thomas B. Michaud has spent 30 years at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of KBW in October 2011, having served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer since September 2001, responsible for directing the firm’s operations across all business lines.
Under Mr. Michaud's leadership, KBW has become one of the leading investment banks to the financial services industry in both the United States and Europe. The company is regularly recognized for its leadership in the areas of equity research, mergers & acquisitions (including cross-border transactions), capital raising, and equity trading. Mr. Michaud maintains strong personal relationships with leading industry executives and has been instrumental in executing many of KBW's largest transactions.
In February 2013, Mr. Michaud led the firm’s merger into Stifel Financial Corp. KBW is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp.
Mr. Michaud is a graduate of Middlebury College and earned an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He currently serves on the Board of the Foreign Policy Association of New York. He is a past board member of the Greenwich Chapter of the American Red Cross, a former Member of the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting, and was a member of the Middlebury College Capital Campaign Committee.
